Private Beginner Piano

Private, one-on-one piano lesson for children and adults who would like a basic understanding of piano or who want to refresh their foundational piano skills.

Guitar (all levels)*

Open to private and group classes, for students ages 7 through adult. Introduction to chords, chord progressions, strumming and some finger picking.

Beginner Music Theory, Melodic Ear Training & Solfege*

Audition Prep for Classical Singers

Acting & Vocal Performance

Intro to Acting*

Learn the foundations of acting believably on stage with focus and commitment. This class starts with exercises to help understand the basics of breaking down beats and identifying character objective, obstacle, and actions. For beginners with little to no previous acting experience, or veteran stage stompers who wish to brush up on basic technique.

Intro to Shakespeare (all acting levels)*

Beginner to advanced lessons on the language of Shakespeare. How to turn poetry into active, performative text. Monologue work and scene work available. Offered as a group course of 6-8 weeks or as private instruction.

Monologue & Audition Prep

Private coaching on analyzing monologue text and working through character development. Focusing on audition preparation and building repertoire.

Vocal Performance*

Coaching moment-to-moment acting work while singing, with a focus on developing audition and/or performance repertoire. Musical Theatre, Pop, Rock, and Folk styles.  Open to private or group classes.

Scene Into Song*

Analysis and coaching on the key transition moments from speaking to singing in a musical, understanding the author's intent with every line leading you to break out into song. Offered as a course of 6-8 weeks or as private instruction. 

Scene Study*

Exploring text work, mapping beats, and developing character by focusing on scenes with at least two people. Using contemporary text (1950's to current), we will be deconstructing scenes then running them to develop acting technique, tap into vulnerability, and increase the actor's range. Teaching techniques will be modified to accommodate the online format.

Music History, Opera Studies, Language & Diction, and Career Consulting

Music History*

This class can either be taken as a one on one, or a group class. The goal of this class is to teach a fuller understanding of the history of western music.

Opera Studies*

$74 (60-minute class); $37 for groups of 2 or more

This can either be taken as a private class or as a group. The goal of this class is to introduce new comers to opera, and to show how opera changed music as we know it today. We will be listening to various operas and talk about the music, libretto, and staging.

Language & Diction Classes*

Instruction in proper pronunciation and proficiency in Italian, French, German and Slavic.
